TaskGuardian 1.0

TaskGuardian is an enhanced Task Manager, that gathers detailed information about all running processes and attempts to make an educated guess to determine the potential security risk for each process, based on various criteria. You can specify trusted entries, add comments and also perform a Google search to find out additional information for the process.

TaskGuardian can also extract text information contained in binary files, which may help find additional clues about a process, and displays performance graphs and network connections used by a selected process. Additional features include a Startup and Services manager, a tool to inspect system files, and a Browser Guardian to view and remove installed BHOs.

TaskGuardian does not rely on a database to identify potential security risks, it makes suggestions strictly based on technical information gathered from a process - the ultimate decision is up to the user, therefore you should be at least an intermediate computer user to take full advantage of the features.
